Canal utilizes Plaid to securely add your payment method of choice! We recommend adding a bank account due to the lower fees!
Instantly adding your Bank account
This option will require that you log into your bank, meaning you will need your login email and password to complete this method. To add account using this method:
- Simply click "Instant"
- Find your banking institution
- Enter your login information when prompted
Manually adding a Bank account
This method will require your routing and account number, and will need to be verified roughly 24 hours after adding. To add account using this method:
- Click "Manual"
- Enter routing and account number
- After 24 hours - check your account for deposit
- Navigate to "Settings" > "Payment and pricing" > "Verify account" in the Canal app
- Enter code from deposit

How do I add my payment method after onboarding?
If you weren't able to add your payment method during onboarding you can do so at any time in the Canal app. Just navigate to "Settings" > "Payment and pricing" and select one of the methods mentioned above.

Why do I need to add a payment method?
Canal will charge this payment method weekly to collect Suppliers commission + shipping that should be passed through to the Supplier. You can read more about these charges here.
