Now you can connect any e-commerce backend to Canal using our Storefront and Supplier APIs. We recommend first reviewing our API documentation at docs.shopcanal.com. There are separate documents for our Storefront and Supplier functionality. You can implement one, or both!
Canal tip: If you have a develop/staging version of your app, we'd recommend that you sign up your dev store on a separate account. For example, use john.smith@myshop.com for your production store and john.smith+dev@myshop.com for your dev store.
Registering your account
To register your account signup using our production signup portal: app.shopcanal.com/signup
Once you go through the registration portal, select to use the API. If you select, 'I already have a Shopify account', you will be re-directed to Shopify to link your account.
After selecting you want to use Canal's API, chose whether you are signing up as a Storefront or a Supplier. You will need to select one, but can register the other app to your account later.
After selecting the app you would like to register for, you will then be asked to complete onboarding.
Note: Contact your Canal representative to add additional login email addresses to your account.
Finding your API keys
After you finished onboarding, go to Settings in the upper right hand menu.
Then select the Developer tab to find your API keys.
Subscribing to and testing webhooks
From the Developer tab, you'll be able to subscribe to webhooks.
-
Select the Add webhooks button.

-
After adding the webhook, you can select the Run Test button to send test information to that webhook to see if everything is flowing correctly.
