Below are the required and recommended steps to take when uninstalling the Canal app.
Step 1: Reach out to your Canal representative (Required)
This is only required if you have a pre-existing contract with Canal. You will want to reach out to your dedicated point of contact to make sure they are aware you are planning to uninstall the Canal app. Contract termination fees may be charged upon uninstalling the app.
Step 2: Confirm all existing Canal orders are fulfilled (Recommended)
For the best customer experience we suggest ensuring all Canal related orders have been fulfilled and shipped. Once the Canal app is uninstalled order updates won't be pushed to your backend.
Step 3: Download all Canal reports (Recommended)
Under the Reports tab in app you can download all orders, payments, and fulfillments. You won't have access to this information once your account has been deleted.
Step 4: Uninstall Canal app in Shopify (Required)
Within Shopify navigate to Settings > Apps and sales channels > find the app > click the three dots next to it > click Uninstall.
Step 5: Remove Canal products from Shopify (Recommended)
Upon app uninstall Canal will automatically draft all Canal related products. If you prefer to remove them from your product listings we suggest archiving them vs deleting them by navigating to the Products page > select the product > click Archive product on the product details page > confirm the action. All Canal products will have a CANAL_SKU associated with it along with a Fulfilled by Canal tag to make it easier for searching.
Step 6: Delete Canal shipping profile (Recommended)
This can be completed by selecting Settings > Shipping and delivery > locate the profile you want to delete > click Manage rates > select Delete profile.
