To add or remove products from the Catalog app, products must be made available on the Catalog for Brands sales channel. Once in the Catalog for Brands app, select the Catalog tab to view and edit your available or paused products.
Note: Once you have added a product to Catalog, you still must approve it for any Partner you want to sell this product. Adding a product to your catalog only allows Partners to see your product — they still need your approval to sell it.
Adding products
To make products available for Partners, navigate to the Catalog tab and select Add products.
Within the Add products modal, you can search for products you want added to your Catalog. To make products available, select the box to the left of the product > Add.
Note: Products need to be Active in your backend to appear in the list.
Enabling and disabling variants
You can also enable and disable products on the variant level. This means you can list specific variants within a product while not listing others. To do this, select the variants link below the product name while in the Catalog tab.
Once you select into the variants, you can enable or disable any variant by selecting the Status toggle to the right of the screen. Partners cannot see disabled variants, and disabled variants do not appear on the Partner's site as part of any approved and processed products.
Other bulk actions
Beyond pausing and removing, Bulk actions also lets you update prices and commission rates across multiple products at once. Select the checkbox to the left of one or more products to reveal the full menu.
- Edit Rokt Price: Set a Catalog-specific price for selected products without changing the price in your source catalog. See the Set Rokt Price for your products article for a full walkthrough.
- Edit default commission: Update the default commission rate for selected products in bulk. This overrides your account-level default for the selected items.
Removing products
You remain in full control of your products after listing them on Catalog. When removing products from Catalog, you have two options: pausing or removing. You can also act on a single product at a time by selecting the three-dot menu to the right of any product row, which gives you access to View in Shopify, Pause selling, and Remove from Rokt Catalog without needing to use bulk selection.
Pausing
Pausing temporarily removes the ability to sell a product for all Partners. You should pause products when you are experiencing inventory or fulfillment issues, or when seasonal constraints apply. To pause selling on a product, navigate to Catalog > select the box to the left of the items you want to pause > Bulk actions > Pause selling. You need to enter a reason for pausing before you can proceed. Once products are paused, you can find them under the Paused or All tabs.
Pausing immediately marks Partner products out of stock and notifies them via email. Partners can request to sell paused products, but they are not able to sell until the product is resumed. Any existing open orders can still be fulfilled, but no new orders are received for the product while it is paused. To resume selling, navigate to the Paused tab > select the box to the left of the items you want to resume > Resume.
Removing
Removing a product permanently removes the ability to sell it for all Partners. Use this if you no longer want to sell a product or if you want to receive new proposals from all Partners. To remove a product, navigate to Catalog > select the box to the left of the items you want to remove > Bulk actions > Remove from Rokt Catalog.
This immediately marks Partner products out of stock and notifies them via email. We recommend changing the product's status in the Shopify admin to "Draft" or "Archived." Alternatively, you can hide these products automatically by creating an automated collection in Shopify that displays in-stock products only.
Removing outside of Catalog
You can also remove products from Catalog by taking action within Shopify:
- Removing the Catalog sales channel from the product.
- Marking a product as draft or archived.
- Deleting a product.
Partners are still notified via email and products are marked out of stock.
Listing products on EDI
To list your products to Catalog via EDI:
- From your system of record, send the 832 and 846.
- Return to Catalog.
- Verify product listings were imported from the 832.
- Verify inventory levels were synced from the 846.
You can find more information in the Onboarding to Orderful article.
