Your Inbox is where all communication with Brand partners lives in Rokt Catalog. From proposal updates and order notifications to direct messages, everything flows into one place. In this guide, you'll learn how to navigate, filter, and manage your Inbox to stay on top of your partnerships.
Getting to your Inbox
Select Inbox from the top navigation bar in the Catalog app. The Inbox opens to a list of your most recent conversations, with a total count of items displayed next to the header (e.g., "Inbox 263").
Inbox categories
On the left side of the Inbox, a set of categories organizes your messages by type. Each category shows a count so you can quickly see where activity is concentrated.
| Category | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Inbox | All incoming messages across every category. This is the default view and gives you the full picture. |
| Messages | Direct messages between you and your Brand partners. These include general conversations, questions, and follow-ups. |
| Proposals | All proposal-related activity, including new proposals, approvals, declines, counter-proposals, and proposal messages. |
| Orders | Order-related communications, such as fulfillment questions, shipping issues, or order-specific updates from Brands. |
| Returns | Messages related to return requests and return processing with Brand partners. |
| Sent | Messages you've sent to Brands. Use this category to review your outgoing communication history. |
Filtering your Inbox
When your Inbox gets busy, filters help you zero in on what matters most. You'll find these filter options above the message list:
- Brands: Select a specific Brand to show only conversations with that partner.
- Unread: Toggle this to surface only unread messages so nothing slips through.
- Partnership status: Filter by the status of your partnership with a Brand (e.g., active, pending).
The total result count updates as you apply filters (e.g., "635 results"), so you always know how many conversations match your criteria.
Reading the message list
Each row in your Inbox represents a conversation thread. Here's what you'll see at a glance:
- Brand name and contact: The Brand's name (and sometimes the contact person) along with their logo.
- Subject line: A brief description of the conversation. Proposal threads include the proposal reference number (e.g., "Proposal #74a3"). Order threads include the order number.
- Message preview: The first line of the most recent message, so you can see what the conversation is about without opening it.
- Date: When the last message in the thread was sent.
- "Your turn" indicator: If a conversation has a Your turn label, the Brand is waiting on a response from you. Prioritize these to keep partnerships moving.
Unread conversations appear in bold to help them stand out from messages you've already reviewed.
Composing a new message
To start a new conversation with a Brand, select the New message button at the top of the Inbox. Choose the Brand you want to contact, enter a subject and message, and send. You can also initiate messages from a Brand's profile on the Brands page.
Common message types
Your Inbox handles several types of communication automatically. Here's what to expect:
Proposal updates
When a Brand takes action on a proposal—approving, declining, countering, or sending a message—a thread appears in your Inbox with the proposal reference number. These also show in the Proposals category for focused tracking.
Order notifications
Order-related messages include fulfillment questions, tracking issues, and shipping updates. These appear in both the main Inbox and the Orders category.
System notifications
Catalog sends automated messages for events like a Brand leaving the platform (e.g., "[Brand] is no longer available on Rokt Catalog"). These keep you informed about changes that may affect your product availability.
Tips for managing your Inbox
- Check for Your turn labels daily. These indicate a Brand is waiting on you, and quick responses build stronger partnerships.
- Use the Unread filter to catch messages you may have missed.
- Switch to the Proposals category when you're focused on deal-related activity, so direct messages don't compete for your attention.
- When discussing a specific order, reference the order number in your message so the Brand can locate it quickly on their end.
